Do more than take a gap year

Still deciding what to do on your year out? Do more than take a gap year – volunteer with Raleigh International in spring 2016 and create lasting change.

We need volunteers aged 17 – 24 to join our inspirational expeditions in Costa Rica & Nicaragua and Malaysian Borneo. You will be working on community and environmental projects and take part in an exhilarating adventure challenge.

What would you be doing?

You could be working on a project that helps to provide access to safe water and sanitation or health and education facilities as well as raising awareness of issues such as health and hygiene, gender equality or access to education.

On the environmental phase, you could be working to conserve some of our oldest rainforests or carrying out surveys to support research into some of the world’s least explored areas.

The adventure phase is a challenge you’ll never forget! You’ll take part in an adrenalin-fuelled trek; hiking through incredible landscapes, learning about wildlife and meeting rural communities.

Who do we work with?

As a charity, we only work in areas and with communities where our help is needed most, so you know you’ll be making a difference.

How long does the experience last?

Our spring expeditions leave in February 2016 and last 7 or 10 weeks.

Raleigh expeditions aren’t holidays. They’re hard work. If you have an open mind, commitment and a desire to change your world for the better, we want to hear from you.

We’re Raleigh International. We’re a sustainable development charity. We believe in the power of young people to create lasting change and we can’t do it without you.
