Wondering what to do after your GCSEs? Why not take a look at intermediate apprenticeships in accounting?
You may think that you need to go to university to get into accounting, but that is no longer the case, as an apprenticeship is proving to be a great route into this career. In fact, an apprenticeship may be the best option for many as it provides a mix of training and real-life work experience as you work towards your qualification.
Getting the experience is certainly a great plus to taking an apprenticeship, as the financial knowledge and practical skills learnt on-the-job will make you attractive to employers and set you apart from university graduates in the job market. Of course, an apprenticeship also means that you won’t have to pay tuition fees (or get into debt to pay them!), while you will also earn a wage while you learn.
An apprenticeship is like a regular job, and you need to apply as you would with any other job, and you will earn while you work and train. Many apprentices go on to find work with the companies they trained with, while others find that the mix of training, experience, and a qualification make it easier to find work elsewhere.
When it comes to work, the openings for accountants and those working in the financial services go beyond the obvious, such as banking, and includes opportunities in many different businesses.
If you are not afraid of numbers and don’t want to go to university to get your future under-way, an intermediate apprenticeship in accounting could be the perfect platform to launch your career.
